1. Are you licensed with the state of Texas?
2. Will permits be pulled ? If not why? Some areas require a permit from the city as well as the water district.
3. How deep will the pipes be in my Yard?
4. How do you solvent weld pipes and fittings? both primer and glue should be used
5. How and why are the stations configured? (Zoning is an important part of designing your irrigation system, some areas will need less water then others, if combined into one you might flood one area to get another enough water.
6. How do you wire up control valves and what type of connectors do you use? Many contractors will use regular wire connectors and place glue in the connector in an attempt to water proof . They will eventually short out and need to be replaced.
7. Is your estimate based by a per zone or station charge? Many contractor will bid the installation by the valve or zone. More valves does not mean a better system. Every yard is unique, some require more hand digging , some have smaller meters or low water pressure. All these factors need to be considered when designing an irrigation system.
